The area covered by
our offices lies mainly south of the A27, west of Arundel
and east of Chichester and includes the following villages:
Aldingbourne, Barnham, Climping, Eastergate, Fontwell, Ford,
Middleton On Sea, Norton, Nyton, Slindon, Tangmere,
Walberton, Westergate, Woodgate and Yapton.
This is an area of beautiful and picturesque countryside
with the South Downs to the north which is designated an
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the coast to the
south.
These rural/semi rural villages lie in the main on the flat
coastal plain and have easy access to the city of Chichester
and the towns of Littlehampton, Arundel and Bognor Regis.
Many of the villages retain much of the rural past and still
have their own village primary schools, churches, post
offices, pubs and shops. Most have clubs and social or
activity groups for all ages.

There are a wealth of farm shops, butchers, bakers and
nurseries. There is a good range of smaller specialist shops
and services, take-away food outlets, restaurants and
convenience stores. In Barnham is a NatWest bank and there
are numerous cash point machines in the villages.
Local amenities include doctor’s surgeries, dentists,
veterinary surgery and church's of various denominations.
Secondary schools are
located in Barnham and Westergate and more can be found in
nearby Chichester, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton and Felpham.
There are also several independent schools in the area.
Good road links exist with the A27 running east - west to
Brighton and Portsmouth and the A29 heading north to
Horsham, Crawley, Gatwick and London and south into Bognor
Regis.
A main line railway station in Barnham enables commuting to
London, Gatwick, Brighton and Portsmouth as well as to the
local towns of Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Chichester and
Worthing. Scheduled times for journeys are as follows:
Barnham to London-Victoria (90 minutes), Gatwick
International Airport (60minutes), Chichester (7 minutes)
and Portsmouth (34 minutes).
Village bus routes offer a service to local towns and both
Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s have free shopping buses that go
through Barnham village four days a week.
The area usually enjoys an exceptionally sunny climate and
accordingly there are many nurseries, glasshouses and market
gardens in the region.
Several sporting venues are located in the area including
Goodwood motor circuit and racecourse and Fontwell
racecourse.
Additionally, there a variety of golf courses and facilities
locally including those at Hilton Hotel in Walberton,
Littlehampton, Chichester, Ham Manor in Angmering and two
courses at Goodwood.
Chichester Harbour is the largest inland harbour in England
with 55 miles of coastline and the area has many cultural
attractions including castles, cathedrals and museums
particularly in Arundel and Chichester. The Wildfowl &
Wetlands Trust, Amberley Museum, Weald and Downland Museum.
For those who love walking the Downs and the
National Trust owned properties locally offer some superb
opportunities.
Principal employment opportunities in the area are linked to
tourism (hotel & catering); the rural economy (horticulture
& agriculture); the public sector, engineering, distribution
and business services.
